Vi customers in Bihar now have access to VoWi-Fi calling support. Wi-Fi calling has quietly been deployed by Vodafone Idea in the state of Bihar.

Customers in a few circles have long had access to Wi-fi calling services from Vodafone Idea (Vi), but for an unspecified reason, the telco has not yet increased support for the service nationwide. Instead, it might be claimed that it has spread support for the service nationwide extremely slowly.

It is odd that Vi lags behind its private competitors in terms of coverage (from Opensignal). It would have been logical for Vi to improve its coverage by enabling users to at least access Wi-Fi or VoWi-Fi calling services in such a scenario. But that hasn't been the case. As a result, Bihar is now the fifteenth telecom circle to offer Wi-Fi calling.

Be aware that not every gadget can use it. You can safely assume that your smartphone would support it if you are using a mid-range or flagship phone that was released in the recent two to three years. If Wi-Fi calling isn't working on your device, simply contact the Vi customer support team.

Other than Bihar, Vodafone Idea offers Wi-Fi calling in Delhi, Kolkata, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West, Punjab, Maharashtra & Goa, Mumbai, Haryana, West Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

Wi-Fi calling support is provided across the nation by Vi's rivals, Airtel and Jio.
