As consumer preferences change, Vodafone Idea on Friday teamed up with Maxamtech Digital Ventures to release multiplayer and competitive gaming content under the name 'Vi games.'

Following this agreement, Vi Games now provides more than 40 challenging and skillful multiplayer games including Express Ludo, Quiz Master, Solitaire King, Golden Goal, and Cricket League across three modes: Tournament mode, Battle Mode, and Friend Mode, the telecom revealed in its statement.

This is in incorporation to Vi Games' existing selection of 1200 smartphone games across nearly 10 genres powered by Android and HTML5. Vi claimed that it has expanded the service to non-Vi members, increasing the range of players who can participate in online gaming on the Vi games.

The statement said," A Vi user may invite anyone, whether they are Vi users or not, to play along with them." Vodafone Idea users can also accrue reward coins and exchange them for interesting presents, access to larger tournaments, or additional game play.

They stated that it might not be sufficient or simple to supply a 5G connection while also subsiding the cost of the gadget. In order to entice users, particularly the higher paying ones, carriers are investigating bundling in limitless data, OTT services and gaming among others.

"Mobile gaming is a critical agenda item for us to encourage customer engagement," Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer, Vodafone Idea, stated. He added, "We had launched Vi games a few months ago and are now expanding our offering to social or multiplaye gaming."

Khosla continued, "We are certain that this new cooperation will not only improve our customers' gaming experiences but also advance us along our digital path."

Vi Games was introduced by Vodafone Idea in May of this year in collaboration with Nazara Technologies.
