Videocon awards 18% salary hike; flies 600 employees to Thailand

NEW DELHI: Videocon Telecom, the telecom arm of the Indian conglomerate Videocon Group, has awarded an 18% increment to its employees and spent Rs five crore to fly over 600 employees to Thailand for five days.

The telco, known for its employee friendly policies, also announced some lucrative employee engagement incentive and retention bonuses for its employees.

It has spent over Rs five crore on its Gala Reward and Recognition event to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on April 4, 2015. Over 600 employees from across departments, verticals and circles are flying to Thailand for a five-day excursion in Pattaya and Bangkok.

The telco will also felicitate its best performers of FY 2014-15 and cascade its strategy and annual operating plan for the next financial year during the event.

Ithas also announced its next financial year Annual R&R event which will be held in Europe.

Videcon, which made its comeback into the telecom space in January 2013, is strategically hiring professionals for its growing business operations including services in three circles (UP-E, UP-W and Bihar/Jharkhand); and rollout of 4G services.

The telco also has plans to go to top Business Schools and Engineering Colleges including IIMs, ISB, S.P. Jain, XLRI, IITs amongst other leading institutes this year for campus placements to strengthen its employee eminence.
