NEW DELHI: Tata Docomo, the telecom brand of Tata Teleservices Limited, has announced that its sales management and reporting tool (SMART) emerged winner of the QualTech Prize at the 27 th Qimpro Convention, held recently in Mumbai.
The application built to empower the company’s sales force, won the award under the Services & Healthcare – Innovation category .
SMART is the first ever sales mobile application developed by a telecom operator in the Indian market for its own sales force and is a big leap in automation segment giving information on the go and making the sales team more equipped, efficient and effective in the market place.
As the sales landscape of Indian Telecom industry becomes more challenging, the sales force today needs to efficiently manage all input levers like better sales planning, distributors management, developing distributor sales executive, strengthening weak markets, retailer engagement, distribution expansion, regular performance tracking & review etc., the company decided to build an application which would make its sales force future ready and equipped to face the challenges in the market place.
“This is an initiative undertaken to bring a paradigm shift from traditional sales working to a technology driven, deeply structured & simplified working. This was targeted to empower the sales force with the right set of skills and tools to enable them to work effectively in the market place. The initiative aimed at using the mobile device as a on the go tool which would help front end sales force to formulate daily sales strategies to deal with the changing market by introducing indigenous, secured, customized, easy to use mobile application” said Mr. Elango Thambiah, President Mobility, Tata Teleservices Ltd.
