NEW DELHI: Samsung has expanded its portfolio of Galaxy A-series of smartphones with the launch of the Galaxy A8, priced at Rs 32,500, in India.
The phablet is 5.9mm thick, sports a 5.7-inch full HD(1080x1920p) Super AMOLED display and features a cut metal frame unibody design.
Powered by a 64-bit Samsung Exynos octa-core processor(1.8GHz Quad Core + 1.3GHz Quad Core) and 2GB RAM, the phone comes with 32GB storage with support for a microSD card slot for expansion (hybrid sim+microSD card slot).
It features a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. The phone comes with a 3050mAh battery and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung's TouchWiz UI. The Galaxy A8 also sports a fingerprint scanner integrated with the phone's Home button.
For connectivity options, the phone supports 3G, 4G (both FDD LTE and TDD LTE), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
