Reliance Jio Received New ACCESS-MSC Code

As per the document, Reliance Jio has been allotted 93420-93429 MSC code for the Tamil Nadu circle. These codes are Jio-exclusive, which means that no other telco can use it. Moreover, not even RCom or RTL can use the said code, along with the port out subscribers.

Notably, there is a high demand from Reliance Jio in terms of MSC codes. Along with this new issue, the telco has received following codes for the following circles:

  • Back in March, the telco received 93290-93299 ACCESS-MSC code for MP circle.
  • It had also received fresh ACCESS-MSC codes – 78610, 78628-78630, 78618-78620, 78638, 78598-78599 for Gujarat circles.

This will bolster the Mukesh Ambani-led telco's numbering capacity, which in turn will bolster its capacity to add more subscribers. The new addition will allow Reliance Jio to meet the demands of one million more subscribers in Tamil Nadu.

What are ACCESS-MSC Codes?

In layman terms, the ACCESS-MSC code is the first 5 digits of a mobile number.

Usually, the MSC code is provided by DoT to a telco once they face a shortage in providing connections. Basically, MSC code allows telcos to make new mobile numbers for new customers.
