In India, approximately 50% of PCs and laptops do not have a security software installed and are hence, exposed to cyberattacks. To address this challenge, Quick Heal has been closely working with CERT-In to develop effective solutions to deal with cyberattacks. CERT-In is the nodal agency responsible for dealing with cyber incidents in the country.

The Cyber Swachhta Kendra is a Botnet Cleaning and Malware Analysis Centre (BCMAC), inaugurated by Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad on February 21, 2017. BCMAC is a part of the Government’s Digital India initiative under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

Sanjay Katkar, MD & CTO, Quick Heal Technologies Limited says; “Being an Indian organization, we consider it to be our prime responsibility to support CERT-In in strengthening the cybersecurity ecosystem of the country. It has been an honour to collaborate with CERT-In and support them in their various endeavours which are aimed at creating a cyber secure country.”

Through our expertise we demystify emerging threats, provide security insights and proactive recommendations to secure data, devices and networks.” added Katkar.

Commenting on this development, Director General, CERT-In Dr Sanjay Bahl said, “We are glad that we are working with Quick Heal and other security vendors. The users are advised to visit the Cyber Swachhta Kendra portal from where they can download free cleaning tools for computers and mobiles. Around 3900 users have so far downloaded the tools. We look forward to continued collaboration with security vendors for providing solutions to citizens.

Quick Heals ‘Bot Removal tool’ helps in detecting and removing any botnet infection including the latest bot malware.  The Botnet Cleaning and Malware Analysis Centre (BCMAC) will have a mechanism to automatically detect botnets and analyse the behavior of a malware to find out if it is new or a modified version of an existing malware.
