Kids are bored at home because of Coronavirus

India is leading the fight against Coronavirus spread! To prevent the spread of Coronavirus causing the disease COVID19, Indian states are fighting in prevention at a war footing. With more than 100 active cases of infected people recorded so far, India has sent clear warnings to citizens and is creating mass awareness activities to contain the spread.

SOCIAL DISTANCING is best recommended as a preventive method and in line with this many Indian states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Bihar, Haryana, and Tamil Nadu have canceled exams, shut schools, colleges, malls and other places of community gathering until March 31st.

But isn't school the best place for a child ( especially the primary school kids) to keep them physically and mentally occupied? With the quarantine measure in place how to keep kids at home occupied in the right way? Thank God! There is an answer to this! It is a blessing that we are all living in the age of digital literacy. There are several online resources for fun-based activities, educational activities, and learning modules that can keep a child occupied yet learn something meaningful without being at school. Staying all day at home, kids are bored, and as parents, we are at a loss of ideas and ways that keep them occupied!

An anonymous Samaritan has done good to society by sharing a list of online resources that can engage children for a few hours. This WhatsApp forward has gone viral now.

This site is old and no longer updated and yet there's so much still available, from language learning to BBC Bitesize for revision. No TV licence required except for content on BBC iPlayer.

Free to access 100s of courses, only pay to upgrade if you need a certificate in your name (own account from age 14+ but younger learners can use a parent account).

For those revising at GCSE or A level. Tons of free revision content. Paid access to higher level material.
Openlearn
Free taster courses aimed at those considering Open University but everyone can access it. Adult level, but some e.g. nature and environment courses could well be of interest to young people.
