NTT Data & Mavenir's latest collaboration reflects an important element in software-defined 5G solution

Aniruddho Basu, SVP & GM Emerging Business, Mavenir, is quite determined in charting new and disruptive ways to digitize industries and enterprises and bring 5G capabilities to the world that will leverage connectivity, mobility, data and networking for their digital transformation.

And to emphasize this determination, Mavenir and NTT Data have collaborated with an aim to jointly develop a broad portfolio of solutions and services for private 5G and 4G networks in Germany.

Both companies believe that this is an important element of the software-defined 5G strategy, which puts NTT Data in a pioneering role.

Sebastian Solbach, Head of Telecommunications at NTT Data, says that the focus on this collaboration is on virtualized mobile networks that reduce the dependence of subscribers on their provider.

In the initial phase, the companies will jointly develop concepts for the German-speaking market (Germany, Switzerland, Austria), with an expansion to other regions and markets expected to follow.

The cooperation is expected to provide a complete range of 5G and 4G systems and solutions. These range from OpenRAN radio access, cloud core solutions for data and voice, management and orchestration of 5G solutions, digital enablement platforms to analytics and applications for enterprises and industry.

For the private network offerings, NTT Data and Mavenir are combining their respective strengths to enable the creation of state-of-the-art solutions and services on the market. This also includes cooperation with private companies from various industries, public and government authorities, and network operators to support the introduction and integration of private networks and related applications and services.

Also, NTT Data will offer its own 5G campus network in the co-creation space “Ensō- The Space for Creators”. It will be available as a showroom solution. Going further, 5G solutions will also be developed on the basis of this campus network.

Together with NTT Data experts, enterprises can create their own 5G use cases and implement them as proof of concept. The acquisition of their own 5G license will be an important first milestone in this respect, says Mavenir in its press statement.
