Lenovo launches PHAB Plus, YOGA Tab 3, TAB2 A7-20 in India

NEW DELHI: Chinese manufacturer Lenovo has expanded its device portfolio in India with the launch of PHAB Plus, YOGA Tab 3 and TAB2 A7-20, priced at Rs 20,990, Rs 16,999 and Rs 5,700, respectively.

PHAB Plus is a blend of a smartphone and a tablet and is customized for a one-handed use operation. The device is conceptualized with the idea that consumers are increasingly using their device for data consumption and that voice-calling ranks 5th in the order of smartphone usage.

In terms of specifications, the Lenovo Phab Plus features a 6.8-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display offering a pixel density of 326ppi.  It packs a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with an Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The handset features 32GB inbuilt storage and also supports expandable storage support via microSD card.

Running Android 5.0 Lollipop with the Vibe UI skin on top, the Phab Plus sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and also comes with a 5-megapixel front camera. The dual-SIM based Phab Plus supports one Micro-SIM card and the other is Nano-SIM.

Connectivity options include 4G, 3G, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB. The phablet packs a 3,500mAh battery which the company claims can deliver up to 24 hours of talk time and up to 350 hours of standby time.

Coming to YOGA Tab 3, the device features 1280 x 800 pixels of resolution and is powered by 1.3GHz Snapdragon 212 coupled with 1GB of RAM. The 16GB onboard storage is expandable via microSD card slot.

The tablet runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, along with connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and optional LTE.

Talking about TAB2 A7-20, the device features a 7-inch IPS display offering a resolution of 1024x600 pixels resolution. There is a quad-core MediaTek processor under the hood clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with 1GB of DDR3 RAM. It comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).

The Android 4.4 KitKat-based tablet sports a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and houses a 0.3-megapixel front camera. The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-20 is a Wi-Fi only tablet with no SIM support. On the connectivity front, the tablet offers USB OTG, and Micro-USB and is backed by a 3450mAh battery.

Lenovo has tied up with Snapdeal and Amazon in India through exclusive partnerships to launch the Tab 2 A7-20 and PHAB Plus respectively.
