Lenovo hires Rohit Sandal as India HR Head

NEW DELHI: Lenovo has appointed Rohit Sandal as its new HR head for India operations. Subhankar Roy Chowdhury, the erstwhile India HR head, will take on a larger mandate as the Global Head HR Strategy, M&A and Analytics.

“Rohit joins us at an opportune time in our journey to be the frontrunners in the PC+ era. Given his proven track record, we are confident that Rohit will be able to build on this strong foundation and seamlessly integrate talent across our newly acquired businesses," said Amar Babu, Managing Director, Lenovo India.

“It is an opportunity for me to build a stronger organization that will drive the company towards its next phase of growth," said Rohit Sandal.

Based out of Bangalore, Sandal will be leading Lenovo's HR strategy and operations in India. He brings with him over 17 years of diverse HR experience. Prior to Lenovo, Sandal was the HR Director at Dell, where he managed HR for Bangalore, Gurgaon & Noida sites.

He also held the Compensation & Benefit leadership role for Dell in India supporting their sharp ramp up and growth. Prior to Dell, Sandal worked with Mercer Consulting. He comes with a proven track record in leading employee engagement, employee relations and HR Transformation Projects across various business lines.

He holds an MBA from Symbiosis Pune and a graduate degree in Economic Honors from Punjab University, Chandigarh.
