Leadership changes at Samsung to enhance digital marketing, sales

NEW DELHI: Korean giant Samsung India has announced some major leadership reorganization changes to have a larger focus to enhance its digital sales and marketing.

The leadership changes will come into effect starting January 1, 2016.

As part of the structural changes, Asim Warsi, vice-president for mobile and information technology, will become head of Samsung's online division and will take care of marketing and sales of all products, including consumer electronics.

Manu Sharma, present director of the mobile division, will be promoted to replace Warsi.

Rajeev Bhutani, who heads the company’s business strategy division in India, will be taking over as the head of the consumer electronics division of Samsung India.

Bhutani, on the other hand, will be replaced by Atul Jain, who is currently a senior vice-president at Samsung's headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. Jain will be reporting directly to the company's India president Hyun Chil Hong and will be responsible for the company's business strategy and planning.

The company will also be merging its enterprise division, launched in 2013 in India, with its consumer electronics division. Anuj Jain, who used to head the business division will become a part of Samsung India's corporate relations team as part of the reorganization.
