Lava attracts young smartphone buyers with latest V5 launch

BENGALURU: Domestic handset maker Lava International Limited has launched V5, its latest offering in the high-end smartphone series with a great camera experience. Lava says that V5 has been designed to deliver an unmatched photography experience as it comes equipped with advanced hardware such as Samsung 3M2 ISOCELL Sensor and superior software features such as PDAF (phase-detection auto-focus).

The PDAF feature helps the camera focus on faster moving objects more accurately enabling consumers to capture perfect shots. The Lava V5 camera has an auto focus time of just 0.18s, about 3 times faster than normal smartphone cameras. The smartphone is supported by CAT4 4G LTE & VoLTE (upgradable by FOTA) and is priced at INR 13,000. V5 sports a metal body and has a 5.5-inch 16M HD IPS (full lamination) display with a scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is powered by a 64 bit 1.3 Ghz MediaTek Quad Core Processor coupled with 3GB DDR3 RAM. Internal storage is 16 GB further expandable upto 32 GB. It is powered by Star OS 2.0 based on Android Lollipop 5.1 (upgradable to Marshmallow 6.0) and supports dual 4G SIM slots (one 4G slot running at a time) with dual standby.

In terms of photography other than the ISOCELL sensor & PDAF feature, the 13 MP Rear camera has a 5 layer Largan TM Lens with blue Glass Filter, F2.0 Aperture with Dual LED Flash. The front camera features an 8MP sensor with flash and an 84 degree wide angle lens. The device also supports full HD (1080p) video recording with digital zoom. In addition to this, the camera also comes with Lava’s MagicPix software which offers modes such as Beauty-fi for enhancing photographs, Pic Focus (focuses on the image and blurs the background), Wide ‘selfie’ (similar to panorama mode helps the user take wide selfies), Night pro (Brighter picture in Low light), GIF Maker, Intelligent Selfie and Multi-Angle view.

The smartphone also has Smart Wake Up, Gestures control, OTG Support and Super Power Saving Mode. The Intelligent Flip Cover, available in white and Black options, can be purchased separately at all stores selling Lava devices. Apart from 4G network support, connectivity options on Lava V5 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with GLONASS and 3G. And to ensure an uninterrupted experience, it packs a strong 3000mAh Li-Po battery.
