JioCinema to launch paid subscription post IPL; expected prices and plans

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani owned- Jio Cinema, a well known video streaming service that attracted prominence by broadcasting the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) is now according to reports, moving towards a premium subscription model. After the IPL is over on May 28th, the corporation is reportedly going to start charging spectators Rs 29 everyday.

A test webpage that exposed JioCinema's premium subscription options was recently disclosed by a Reddit user. The platform is reportedly scheduled to launch Daily Delight, Gold Standard, and Platinum Power as its three subscription packages. According to the website, all the JioCinema Premium subscriptions will give customers access to all material in the best possible quality across all devices.

Day Delight: This plan is anticipated to come with a one-day validity and will cost Rs 29. Users can at once stream content on two separate devices under this one-day plan.

Gold Standard: This package is reportedly a three-month package and is anticipated to cost Rs 299. The pricing may be Rs 99 for an introductory period and will permit streaming on two devices.

Platinum Power: The top tier package from JioCinema is expected to normally cost Rs 1,199 but to begin with a discount is anticipated to make it available for Rs 599. A whole year will pass before it expires as it will come with one year validity. In addition to supporting up to four devices simultaneously, it will provide advantages including ad-free streaming.

JioCinema plans to offer more than 100 films and TV shows in a variety of regional languages including Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati and Hindi among others. It added that the match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals on JioCinema saw an unsurpassed 22 million simultaneous viewers on April 12, 2023.
