Jio increases its entry-level postpaid plan from Rs 199 to Rs 299

Reliance Jio last week unveiled 4 new postpaid plans named Jio Plus for postpaid customers with the first months' payment starting at Rs 299. Jio, however did not at the time disclose any information regarding its current plans. Moreover, Jio raised the entry-level postpaid rate after launching its new postpaid plans.

As mentioned on Jio's website, its entry-level postpaid package now costs Rs 299 per month which was earlier priced at Rs 199. Those who purchase Jio's new Rs 299 postpaid package receive, 100 SMS per day, along with unlimited Local, STD, and Roaming calls with 30 GB of high-speed internet. Subscribers to Jio who receive invites may take advantage of the Welcome Offer with Unlimited 5G data. Internal app features including JioTV, Jio cinema, Jio security, and Jio cloud are included with the subscription. It must be taken note of that the plan subscription requires a security deposit of Rs 375, which may be waived if the customer meets certain Jio conditions.

Prior to this change in plan prices, postpaid customers could purchase a postpaid plan for Rs 199. Jio's previous Rs 199 postpaid package included 100 SMS per day along with unlimited Local, STD, and Roaming calls and 25 GB of high-speed internet.

Jio has so far launched its 5G networks in many cities nationwide. 5G technology was first launched in the country in October, 2022 at IMC when PM Modi officially introduced 5G in India.

Reliance Jio is deploying its True 5G network on Standalone(SA)5G model, which comes with dedicated equipment and network functions. It requires a completely independent infrastructure setup and does not depend on 4G core infrastructure. Jio has introduced its services in nearly 300 cities nationwide so far. While Jio is currently offering its Jio True 5G services via its invite-only Welcome Offer program.
