Within a year of the 5G debut, according to PM Narendra Modi, India has over 4 lakh 5G BTS sites, powering 5G in 97% of cities and providing coverage for 80% of the population. The PM also discussed how, prior to 2014, India was an importer of mobile phones but is now an exporter of them. According to PM Modi, India is the world's second-largest maker of mobile phones. In addition, PM Modi unveiled 100 5G labs that are spread over India for IMC 2023.

According to Sunil Bharti Mittal, Eutelsat OneWeb would begin providing services in India from its satellite ground station in Gujarat starting the next month. Additionally, he stated that Airtel's 5G network covers 2000 villages and 5000 towns. Mittal reaffirmed that Airtel will finish rolling out 5G by March 31, 2024.

According to Akash Ambani, Jio is providing 85% of the nation's 5G capacity and is deploying a 5G cell every ten seconds in India. Furthermore, he stated that with over 125 million 5G customers, India currently is among the top three countries with 5G availability.

Airtel and Jio are two major telecommunications companies in India, and both have launched their 5G networks nationwide. 5G technology was first launched in the country in October, 2022 at India Mobile Congress last year, when PM Modi officially introduced 5G in India. Airtel is deploying its 5G Plus services on Non-standalone (NSA) infrastructure whereas Reliance Jio is deploying its True 5G network on Standalone(SA)5G network.
