Idea Cellular achieves highest 4G upload speed in September: TRAI

NEW DELHI: Telecom operator Idea Cellular has achieved the highest upload speed in the month of September’17, as per data reported from TRAI’s My Speed App.

Telco topped the chart in average upload 4G speed for the month of September’17 with an upload speed of 6.307 Mbps, as per the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) data.

Idea reported a high average download speed of 8.74 Mbps for the same period.

As per TRAI’s My Speed App, Idea has been consistently achieving high upload speeds since May 2017.

The regulator collects and computes data download speed with the help of its MySpeed application.

Idea Cellular, recently achieved a major milestone in its network growth journey. The company has rapidly expanded network to 260,000 sites across the country with 50% sites dedicated to mobile broadband services, establishing it as ‘India’s Big 4G network’. Idea added nearly 50,000 broadband sites over the last 12 months period ending August ’17, growing its broadband footprint to cover 5,888 Census towns and nearly 105,755 villages, reaching out to 45% population of the country.
