EVI Technologies signs 10-year MoU with BSNL to install EV Battery Swapping stations pan India

BSNL and EVIT ink MoU for electric vehicle charging station

The country is in a preparation mode for developing the necessary infrastructure for Electric Vehicles. And aligning its intent to make India an EV Hub, EVI Technologies Pvt. Ltd (EVIT), homegrown EV charging solutions infrastructure company, recently signed a 10-year MoU with State-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to install Battery Swapping and EV charging stations in 5000 locations of BSNL, covering major cities, state & national highways.

The partnership intends to solve the problem of EV owned consumers by installing 100 battery swapping and 6 Public Chargers at each BSNL’s location.

Under this agreement, EVIT will make the entire upfront investment on services pertaining to the MoU, along with the operation and maintenance of the Battery Swapping infrastructure by using qualified personnel. BSNL would be responsible for providing the requisite space and power connections for installing the Battery Swapping infrastructure.

Speaking about the ambitious project, Rupesh Kumar, CEO, EVI Technologies said, “We are thrilled to join hands with BSNL for this initiative to help build a conducive ecosystem in supporting E-mobility in India. EVIT believes that building EV charging infrastructure across India is spearhead step under the government’s National eMobility Program.”

“As our country strives towards 100% Electric vehicle nation, a lot of EV customers are left out simply because of less charging infrastructure. This infrastructure arrangement at BSNL will reduce the charging station availability anxiety among EV consumers and accelerate the adoption of EVs across India,” further said, Kumar.                 

Manoj Kumar Mishra, CGM, BSNL Maharashtra said, “BSNL is committed to developing a strong EV battery swapping and charging stations in India, which is crucial for wider acceptability of Electric Vehicles among masses. This initiative of EVIT & BSNL will help to promote clean energy and reduce carbon emissions."

It was known that recently EVIT raised funds from Automotive Electronics Component manufactures, Napino Auto & Electronics. The company has also expressed its anticipation to cross 10 million revenue figure by December 2020.
