Dell unleashes new range of innovative products

NEW DELHI: Dell, an integrated IT company, expanded its portfolio of devices with the launch of XPS 13, Alienware 15 and 17, Dell Venue 8 7000 Series, and Dell Inspiron 5000 Series.

Commenting on the launch, P. Krishnakumar, vice president, consumer & small business, Dell India said, “We believe that the future of the PC is strong and lies with the youth and their cognizance that technology is the key to the advancement of their ambitions. With a starting price of Rs 70,990, the XPS 13 notebook has a 5th Generation Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 with 4GB or 8GB Dual Channel DDR3L-RS (on board) memory options. It comes with Video Graphics powered by Intel HD Graphics 5500 along with 13.3-inch UltraSharp™ QHD+ (3200x1800) infinity touch display. The device runs on Windows 8.1, Windows 8.1 Pro and is crafted with Machined (CNC) Aluminum, carbon fiber palmrest, Corning Gorilla Glass NBT. Connectivity options include Wireless Connectivity Dell Wireless 1560 802.11ac + Bluetooth 4.0 <2.4&5 GHz, 2x2>/ Intel® Dual Band 7265 802.11ac + Bluetooth 4.0, <2.4 & 5GHz, 2x2>/ Intel® Dual Band 7265 802.11agn + Bluetooth 4.0 <2.4 & 5 GHz, 2x2>. The XPS 13 also comes with stereo speakers professionally tuned with MaxxAudio® by Waves. It comes with a full size, backlit chiclet keyboard; 1.3mm travel keyboard is available on the XPS 13 and Pointing Device Precision touchpad and a seamless glass integrated button. The notebook packs a widescreen HD webcam with dual array digital microphones along with a 52Whr battery. The Dell XPS 13, with a virtually borderless infinity display runs on Windows 8.1 and has a battery life up to 15 hours.

Coming to Alienware 15 and 17, the laptops are more than 20 percent thinner than their predecessors and feature full-powered performance components without throttling.

The Alienware 15 is for new consumers looking for a gaming notebook that offers a UHD 4K experience. It is the lightest 15 inch notebook ever offered from Alienware. In terms of specifications, the laptop has 15.6 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS-Panel Anti-Glare 300-nits Display(Standard), 15.6 inch UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS-Panel TrueLife 350-nits Display with Touch Technology. The average weight of the Alienware 15 is 3.207 Kg. 7.07 Lbs and the laptop has an 8-cell Lithium Ion (92 Wh) Battery with a 4-Zone, multi-color RGB keyboard. The keyboard is complemented with AlienFX lighting controls and 5 user-programmable keys providing up to 15 distinct functions per application or game. The laptop has Intel® Core i5 4210H dual-core, 3MB cache, up to 3.5GHz w/ Turbo Boost) and Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ (Quad-Core, 6MB Cache, up to 3.5GHz w/ Turbo Boost). The operating system options include Windows® 8.1 (64-bit) (Standard), Windows® 7 Professional (64-bit) and Windows® 8.1 Pro (64-bit).

The device will be available at a starting price of Rs 125,990 in India.

Talking about Alienware 17, it has 17.3 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare 300-nits Display (Standard), 17.3 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) TrueLife 300-nits Display with Touch Technology and has an average weight of the Alienware 17 is 3.780 kg.  Operating system options Windows® 8.1 (64-bit) (Standard), Windows® 7 Professional (64-bit) and Windows® 8.1 Pro (64-bit).The device has a starting price of Rs1,45,990 in India.

The third offering from Dell is Venue 8 7000 Series tablet which the company boasts is the world’s thinnest tablet at 6mm. Based on the Intel® AtomTM processor Z3500 series, the tablet has 2560x1600 OLED infinity edge-to-edge display. The Venue 8 7000 Series also integrates the Intel RealSense Snapshot Depth Camera, which captures a depth map for every picture taken. The tablet has a starting price of Rs 34,999.

The last offering is the Inspiron 5000 Series which is available in 14’ and 15’ form factors respectively. It runs on Windows 8.1 and standard graphics option includes Intel HD Graphics. The new Inspiron 15 5000 series starts at Rs 39,990 and the Inspiron 14 5000 will be available in Q3 FY16.

The versatile product range is instrumental in building the Dell’s vision for PC users to leverage technology in driving the growth of a knowledge economy. With a focused expansion in Tier 3 to Tier 5 markets, the company has a retail presence in over 1000 cities across India and 475 Dell exclusive stores in over 300 cities. Dell plans to double these numbers by the end of 2015.
