With the ongoing Telecom war in the Indian Telecom market, it’s been tough for the state run telcos such as MTNL and BSNL, to compete with the private telecom operators such as Vodafone Idea, Airtel and Reliance Jio. Each of them wises to woo new customers while sustaining the present ones with their new plans and offers with various benefits. Following the footsteps of its competitors, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has recently launched “Christmas Offer” which is for its prepaid subscribers.

The offer will be valid in both Delhi and Mumbai circles. The catch is, the prepaid connection must be booked between December 25, 2018, to January 31, 2019. The numbers booked during this period will not be charged for consuming data. Since there is no data limit as well, the offer is God-sent for a heavy data user.

However, the government-run telco is only offering 2G and 3G services in the country unlike other telcos like Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea. So, the unlimited data with this offer will be restricted to 2G/3G speeds.

For voice calling or SMS services, the subscriber needs to do a separate recharge. Once the validity period ends (which is 60 days), the subscriber will be charged as per basic data consumption rates.
