The Cabinet today has announced a INR 7,350 Crores PLI Scheme for Laptops, Tablets, All-in-one PCs and Servers to boost production.

The cabinet has extended the PLI scheme by announcing the same for laptops, tablets all-in-one PCs and servers. The PLI scheme will benefit hardware makers in IT and Pharmaceutical industries and seeks to bolster product in the country.

Details of the PLI Scheme

Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Union Electronics and IT Minister said that India will bring five of the largest manufacturers in the electronics and offer them the scheme. The scheme will be valued at INR 7,350 Crores and will help push for Atmanirbhar Bharat in electronics manufacturing still further. The Government is expecting a production of over 3.26 lakh crores in IT and exports of worth around 2.5 lakh crores due to the scheme. Right now, the government is asking for sops from the interested players across the world.

This comes a week after Union Cabinet announced a massive Rs. 12,195 Crores scheme for Telecom Equipment Manufacturing.
