BSNL Tamil Nadu Circle boasts of profits, awards; announces slew of economical tariff packages

CHENNAI: In a recent press meet held in Chennai, N Poonguzhali, Chief General Manager, BSNL Tamil Nadu Circle announced that the government led-telecom operator BSNL has bagged all the three prestigious awards for Best Maintained Telephone System in the country for the year 2015.

Revealing its financial position, she said BSNL Tamil Nadu Circle had earned an operational profit of Rs 82.31 crores for the year 2015-16 as against the operational profit of Rs 51.39 crores in the year 2014-15. BSNL, Tamil Nadu Circle was in the second Place on Pan-India basis in CM Revenue Growth among the larger circles for the year 2015-16. In a bid to beat competition from private telecom giants, BSNL Tamil Nadu has conceived an absolutely attractive package for both wireless and landline subscribers.

  • Customers Unlimited Free Calling Facility – In addition to SUNDAY IS FUN-DAY BSNL that includes ‘Free Night Calling’ from 09.00 p.m. to 07.00 a.m. to any network for BSNL landline customers, BSNL has further announced Sunday Unlimited free calling from BSNL Landline to any network, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, w.e.f. 15.08.2016. This will enable the landline customers to continuously be in touch with their near and dear for 34-hours “Non-stop” from 09.00 p.m. of Saturday to 07.00 a.m. on Monday. The offer is available pan-India.
  • Experience Land line 49/- per month: A Triple Bonanza, BSNL has announced a new landline scheme for just Rs 49 per month as FMC for a limited period offer of 3 months with no installation charges. After 6 months, the connections under this scheme will be migrated to General Plan. Unlimited free night calling and Sunday free calling facilities are applicable for this scheme. A prepaid BSNL mobile SIM Card will be offered free of cost under this scheme. Tamil Nadu Circle aims to achieve 50,000 new connections within 3 months under this scheme.
  • Offers for Broadband Customers Upward Revision of download speed after Fair Usage Plan (FUP) – NO Kbps ONLY Mbps— BSNL is the first Telecom Operator to upgrade the minimum download speed to 1 Mbps from 512 Kbps after FUP, thus doubling the existing speed. Further, BSNL has handsomely increased pre FUP data limits across various Broadband plans. This upgradation shall enhance customer experience of BSNL Broadband services.
  • ADSL Broadband: BSNL, Tamil Nadu Circle has decided to offer Broadband plans one of the flagship plan being 750 Combo plan with Fixed monthly charges Rs 750/-, Unlimited download, 2Mbps speed upto 5GB and 1Mbps
  • Next Generation Network (NGN) Tamil Nadu Circle has introduced a state-of-the-art technology “NGN” with a capacity of 100000 in 26 places along 4 cities, viz. Madurai, Salem, Trichy and Tirupur under Phase-I. 96 places are planned under Phase-II. NGN Switches have got various value-added services like All India IP Centrex; Prepaid Fixed Telephony; Fixed Mobile Convergence Wi-Fi Hotspots Wi-Fi Hotspots are provided by BSNL at important tourist spots and pilgrimage locations.
  • In the Tamil Nadu Circle, 62 locations have been provided with this facility with 102 access points so far and there is a plan to provide another 200 Hotspot access points in Tamil Nadu Circle including the places given by Tourism Development Department. Public Sector Banks like Indian Bank (15 locations, 60 access points) and State Bank of India (6 locations, 25 access points) are adopting remote villages for extending this service under “Prime Minister’s Digital India Initiative” program.
  • SWAS: Service with A Smile Under SWAS Program: Tamil Nadu Circle has formulated an innovative program ‘Nalandhaana. Nalandhaana – Meet and Greet Customers’  An innovative program formulated by Tamil Nadu Circle was launched on July 1, 2016 to “Meet and Greet” the customers at their doorsteps in the inner zone and redress their grievances, if any by a team of BSNL Officers and staff. This is aimed at retaining the existing customers and for enrolling more new customers.

Commenting on another achievement by BSNL TN, N Poonguzhali, Chief General Manager, BSNL Tamil Nadu Circle , said, “In the last 50 days, 50,000 customers have been visited by BSNL teams across the circle, 3000 new landline customers and 2700 new broadband customers were brought into BSNL network under innovative schemes apart from reconnecting 750 customers 15000 SIMs and 35000 special tariff “Nalandhana” Recharge Coupons were sold and 1200 faults were rectified. Two Mega Melas were conducted in Tamil Nadu during July and August wherein 38,000 and 68,000 mobile SIMs were sold respectively in a single day.”
