Bharti Airtel provided mobile network coverage to the village of T-Chuntiwari, which is tucked away in the isolated Machil region of the Kupwara district of Jammu & Kashmir. An important development in the connection of the area was made when Airtel officials built a mobile tower in the village for the first time.

The advent of the mobile tower was eagerly anticipated by the people of T-Chuntiwari, who saw it as a as the only bridge connecting them to the outside world. In the modern day, communication has become a crucial tool. They expressed their gratitude to the District Administration Kupwara and Airtel officials for quickly supplying this urgently required cell tower facility, allowing them to contact their loved ones and keep up with events outside of their hamlet.

The Airtel Cluster Manager reportedly confirmed in numerous media reports that the Airtel Tower at T-Chuntiwari has been successfully commissioned and is scheduled to start up soon. "Airtel tower installed at T-Chuntiwari in Machil area for the first time; Locals thank District Administration," read a post from Deputy Commissioner Kupwara on social media.

Additionally, work is being done to enhance the communication infrastructure in the area. Three more Airtel towers at Thali, Dudi, and Chuntiwari-Bala are almost finished, and around 70% of the fibre construction has been completed.

Bharti Airtel Limited recently announced its audited consolidated results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2023. The telco reported a net profit of Rs. 1,612 crore, the revenues for Bharti Airtel’s mobile services in India increased by a noteworthy 12.4 percent YoY, mostly due to the continuous acquisition of solid 4G users and an increase in average revenue per user (ARPU). Airtel also strengthened its leadership position in Postpaid segment with highest ever net adds of 0.8 Mn in Q1’24 thereby reaching a customer base of 40.4 Mn (including IoT). Airtel business became India’s first enterprise to power over 20 Mn connected devices.
