Avaya integrates SDN Fx technology in Burj Khalifa, Dubai

New Delhi: Avaya, provider of networking and engagement solutions, have announced the implementation of Avaya’s SDN Fx technology within Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building located in Dubai. The company claims that this next-generation technology infrastructure will enable guests, tenants, and IT teams to enjoy a network experience with no downtime.

A mixed-use tower, Burj Khalifa has residences, offices, common areas, and leisure attractions. This is now enabled with SDN Fx, Avaya’s fabric-based, software-defined network architecture.

Towering at over 828 metres (2,716.5 ft.), Burj Khalifa has a total built-up area of 5.67 million square feet. It has 1.85 million sq. ft. of residential space and over 300,000 sq. ft. of prime office space, and is home to the world’s highest observation deck, At the Top, Burj Khalifa SKY.

Avaya’s SDN Fx, announced globally in February 2015, is making inroads into global projects and structures. Additionally, Avaya is bringing GITEX Technology Week 2015, Middle East’s technology trade show, through its AvayaLive Engage solution. AvayaLive Engage will allow IT and business professionals from any region to explore GITEX in real time.

The Avaya virtual stand will be accessible from any Internet connection or browser, allowing visiting professionals to use custom avatars to move around the stand and the wider area. Visitors using the AvayaLive Engage environment can interact in real time with Avaya experts via voice, video or IM, allowing presenters to share files, presentations, demonstrations and videos and hold private conversations as well.
