Asus launches ultraportable laptop at Rs 49,999

NEW DELHI: Taiwanese multinational Asus has launched a new 13.3-inch QHD+ ultraportable laptop, ZenBook UX305 in India, priced at Rs 49,999.

The new Asus UX305 weighs 1.2kg and features an in-plane switching (IPS) anti-glare display with a 3200 x 1800 pixel resolution. The display is five times the resolution of a standard HD display, and features a pixel density of 275ppi for images and video. The device also sports a 300cd/m2 brightness, a contrast ratio of 770:1 and an ergonomic anti-glare coating.

It is powered by an Intel Core M-5Y10 processor,8GB RAM and features a 512GB SSD (solid-state disk).

Commenting on the launch, Peter Chang, Region Head - South Asia; Country Manager – System Business Group - ASUS India, said: ,“Our latest ASUS ZENBOOK is a step ahead to make the incredible available for the Indian masses. Being the pioneers of bringing ultrabooks in the country, we comprehend the market for Ultrabooks here and have timely introduced various variants to cater to the demand.”

“Zenbook UX305 is one of our elite ranges of products and will further enhance our Ultrabook Series and quality offerings for our existing and prospective customers,” added Chang.

According to Asus, the full-size ergonomic keyboard has an improved layout for comfortable and accurate typing in any lighting conditions, and the large responsive touchpad supports Smart Gestures for intuitive control of Windows 8.1.

The device offers a battery life of up to 10 hours and features Asus IceCool technology, which ensures a cooler palm rest area. In terms of connectivity, the Asus ZenBook includes a total of three USB 3.0 ports. One of the USB ports supports ASUS Charger+ technology for rapid recharging of mobile devices. A USB-to-Ethernet adapter is bundled with UX305, along with a mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter for connecting to an external monitor.
