Amazon recently introduced a new subscription option called Amazon Prime Lite in an effort to attract a larger audience in India. This programme aims to increase the number of subscribers to the corporation in the nation by providing a more affordable option to the standard Amazon Prime membership. The Prime Lite subscription was previously only accessible to a small number of customers, but it is now open to a larger number of people.

Amazon Prime Lite offers a single annual plan, unlike the standard Prime membership, and charges customers Rs 999 for a 12-month subscription. Whereas Prime membership gives 3 options for subscribing to its services, Monthly Prime membership (1 Month) for Rs 299, Quarterly Prime subscription (3 Months) for Rs 599 and Annual Prime subscription (12 months) for Rs 1499. Prime Lite does not provide quarterly or monthly subscriptions, in contrast to normal Prime membership.

While adding a few minor changes, Prime Lite's advantages are identical to those of Amazon Prime. To eligible addresses, Prime Lite members can take advantage of free two-day and standard delivery in the Amazon Prime Lite subscription, and there is also the choice of No-Rush shipping, which offers Rs 25 in cashback. Additionally, as part of the membership, Amazon offers 5 percent cashback as part of the membership on purchases made on their India website using an Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card, excluding digital and gift card purchases, which earn 2 percent back. Regular Amazon Prime subscribers, on the other hand, have access to speedier delivery choices like one-day, planned, and same-day delivery. For some products, there may even be a morning delivery option. Prime Reading and Amazon Music, two extra services that are only accessible to ordinary Prime members, are inaccessible to Amazon Prime Lite members.

While Amazon Prime members have access to Amazon Music and Videos, Prime Lite subscribers can as well with a few changes. Prime Lite members, however, have restrictions on the Prime Video streaming quality. They have access to limitless HD video streaming on only up-to two devices. Regular Prime subscribers, on the other hand, can stream 4K content simultaneously on up to six devices. Ads will be included in Prime Videos for Prime Lite, according to Amazon, helping to offset the cheaper subscription fee. However, it is unclear where exactly these advertisements will appear, where as normal Prime subscribers can choose to avoid the adverts that appear at the start of shows or films on Prime Video.
