Airtel 5G Plus now available in all 7 North-Eastern states of India

With the launch of 5G Services in seven new cities of North East Region, the count of Airtel 5G Plus cities goes to 98 and Bharti Airtel becomes the first telco to enable 5G services in the North-eastern region of India.

Telecommunications services provider Bharti Airtel, today announced the launch of its 5G Plus services in the North-East cities of Kohima, Dimapur, Aizawl, Gangtok, Silchar, Dibrugarh & Tinsukia. Airtel 5G Plus is already available in Guwahati, Shillong, Imphal, Agartala and Itanagar.

Airtel 5G Plus services will be available to customers in a phased manner as the company continues to construct its network and complete the roll out. Customers with 5G enabled devices will have access to high speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no extra cost until the roll out is more widespread. Airtel will augment its network making its services available across all the cities in due course of time.

Commenting on the launch, Rajnish Verma, CEO Assam and North-Eastern States, Bharti Airtel said, "Airtel remains committed to delivering the highest quality of service to its customers. Connectivity to North Eastern states is in line with our commitment to bridge the digital divide and connect communities who need it the most."

"With this, we have successfully powered the entire North-East region of India. Airtel customers in these cities can now experience ultrafast network and enjoy speeds upto 20-30 times faster than the current 4G speeds. We are in the process of lighting up all the cities which will allow customers to enjoy superfast access to Highdefinition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, instant uploading of photos and more."

Airtel 5G Plus services are now available in the following cities of the north-eastern states also called the seven sisters of India.

  1. Kohima: Kohima is the capital city of Nagaland.
  2. Dimapur: Dimapur is the largest city in the Indian state of Nagaland
  3. Aizawl: Aizawl is the capital city of Mizoram.
  4. Gangtok: Gangtok is the capital city of Sikkim.
  5. Silchar: Silchar is a city located in the southern part of Assam. It is also the 2nd largest town in Assam.
  6. Dibrugarh: Dibrugarh is an industrial city located in Upper Assam.
  7. Tinsukia: Tinsukia is a city located in Assam also known as the economic capital of Assam
