Aircel offers 2GB free back–up service to its customers

NEW DELHI: Telecom operator Aircel has launched a service – mobile backup solution, which enables its customers to take their mobile backup on cloud storage and use it on multiple devices. Aircel subscribers are able to back up their contacts, messages, images, videos, audios and other files. This service is free of cost and users are able to backup up to 2GB storage space. To ensure enhanced safety and security of customer’s data the service is integrated with Mobile Connect PIN based Authentication which provides multi-factor authentication.

Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer, Aircel, said, “Aircel continuing with its promise of providing extra value is delighted to launch this exclusive service for its customers. The Aircel Backup app offers our customersthe ease of storing all their important information on the cloud with the luxury of accessing that information across multiple devices. This takes care of the customer concern of freeing up memory space on their phones besides keeping their data safe. Moreover the data backup is free of charge and is accessible anytime anywhere.”

He added, “Using Mobile Connect authentication, Aircel has taken a step ahead to address users’ personal data privacy using industry best practices. It gives users peace of mind as cloud storage access is only possible with 2-factor authentication. It is the telco’s infrastructure which authenticates the user rather than any user name and password or social media logins.”

The backup service is developed on Aircel mobile app platform. The service is available for Android users presently and soon will be launched for iOS and Windows OS customers.Data charges for accessing the application and taking back up will be as per customer’s existing data pack.
