ZTE Corporation has announced that its ZXR10 T8000 router has been evaluated by the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), a consortium for adoption of carrier and ethernet networks and services and has successfully passed several tests, including MEF9 and MEF14 standard networking tests of the forum.
The MEF9 and MEF14 tests are conducted by MEF in order to check the ethernet service functionality and performance.
“Our entire line of 100G chips has now passed the industry’s strictest tests. This is indicative of our competitive edge and commitment to innovation'', said Fan Xiaobing, GM, bearer network product line, ZTE.
The non profit MEF comprises of 175 members, including international telecommunications operators, telecommunications equipment and software providers, semi-conductor equipment manufacturers and international testing organizations.
According to the Chinese giant, its routers utilize the forwarding, switching and interface chips, developed by the company, ensuring packet data reception rates and efficient router forwarding and switching. And the routers are capable of outstanding long-term reliable performance in the case of multiple overlapping services.
