ZTE, Swisscom unveil Grand X handset

ZTE has launched the Grand X (My Surf pure) device in Switzerland along with a Swiss operator, Swisscom. Swisscom will be a distributor. The My Surf pure handset operates on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The device is powered by dual core processor, 5MP camera and 4.3 inch QHD screen. It also has 4GB internal storage which can be expanded to 36GB with an external micro SD card. The handset is currently available from retailers at a net price of 299 Swiss Francs.

Swisscom is offering the handset with a range of 12 month and 24 month post-paid packages including unlimited data transmission, unlimited calls to all Swiss networks and unlimited domestic SMS and MMS services, said a release.

“With the Grand X (My Surf pure), we are expanding our range of smart phones to deliver mid to high-range capabilities in a high quality device. Switzerland is one of several European countries to receive our new device and we hope to continue to further this reach globally,” said Mr. He Shiyou, EVP and head of the Terminals Division, ZTE.

The ZTE Grand X has been launched in the UK and Turkey, and will be launching in several European countries including Spain, Sweden, Norway and Russia as well as Asian countries like Malaysia and Indonesia, added the release.
