www.iBuildApps.co.uk has announced the launch of the world's first free iPhone application that allows consumers to find and buy personalised registration plates directly through their iPhone. The developer responsible for creating the free application claims it was built to keep pace with Britain's insatiable demand for personalised licence plates. According to the Office of National Statistics one in twenty UK drivers already own a personalized number plate, spending £500 per plate on average.Once they have downloaded the application users can choose from millions of available licence plates, either by selecting one of a number of popular categories or by searching directly for a word or name of their choosing. Once users select a plate that meets their criteria they can view it on a brand new Porsche and make an enquiry about its availability. Bryn Firkins, who developed the app, explained, “Brits love their motors. According to Apple, five of the ten most downloaded iPhone apps in the UK in 2009 were car related. This app helps drivers secure the perfect plate for their new car whilst still sitting in the dealer's showroom”.
