Wipro, Nortel celebrate 15-year partnership

BANGALORE: Nortel and Wipro Technologies, the global IT services arm of Wipro
Limited, today celebrated 15 years of collaboration in developing and supporting
next generation products for service provider and enterprise customers
worldwide.

This marks the establishment, in 1991, of one of the first offshore
development centers in India dedicated to telecommunications R&D. 

Wipro currently provides end-to-end design, system integration, consulting,
software release management and support for Nortel's carrier and enterprise
product lines, as well as a multi-site, geographically dispersed engineering
services delivery model. 

“Wipro's robust processes, in-depth telecommunications knowledge, R&D
expertise and product engineering skills have made Wipro a highly valued
supplier over the past 15 years,” said John Haydon, chief procurement officer,
Nortel. “Wipro's support has helped Nortel to develop and deliver advanced
telecommunications solutions that provide substantial cost and performance
benefits to our customers.”

Wipro is a 'gold' member of Nortel's nPower Channel Partner Program and
is focused on providing voice and data solutions to Indian enterprises. Wipro is
also a Nortel recommended provider for engineering services associated with the
implementation, integration and maintenance of Nortel solutions.
