Huawei has appointed Wilson Wang as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Huawei India, R&D center. Wilson succeeds Justin Chen, who has taken up his new role as the global president of Huawei's BSS product line, after a three-year stint in the Indian center.
In his new role he would be responsible for developing long-term investment and strategic plan for India and would handle operations and management responsibility.
Wilson has been associated with Huawei for over 13 years. Prior to this appointment, he served as Director in Application & Software Product-line of Huawei Technologies in Shenzhen, China.
He would lead the R&D center in strengthening end-to-end ownership of products, establishing the center as an important hub for telecom services for global operators, and completing Huawei's new R&D campus.
Wilson would also guide the R&D center's foray into the enterprise segment to develop solutions for data center, unified communications and IP contact center, establish a devices product center to develop applications customized to the Indian handset market, and strengthen the cloud computing solutions portfolio.
