Where does the optical fiber market stand as compared to wireless?
With increasing capacity expansion and high bandwidth applications, the need
for optical equipment is actually increasing significantly. In the core, edge
and access networks, optical products are irreplaceable.
Even in last mile, the optical fiber technology is expected to play an
important role, seamlessly integrating with all packet next generation networks
(NGN) using IP. Optical fiber has the capability of delivering huge bandwidth
required for services such as IPTV and enterprise applications. Wireless is a
good technology for applications that require mobility, and eases deployment in
last mile. However, the limitation of wireless will be bandwidth and scarcity of
wireless spectrum. Hence, we find that optical fiber deployment will continue to
grow in core segments of the networks and in applications that require higher
bandwidth in last mile and for backhauling the data collected by the wireless
access network.
How is MADM going to improve network efficiency?
MADMs (Multi-ADMs) integrate a number of add-drop multiplexers in single
equipment and have integrated standards-based Ethernet packet services
capability in addition to legacy TDM. It supports seamless
cross-connection/switching of TDM and Ethernet data packets between all ADM
interfaces, working as a mini-cross-connect. This improves and simplifies
provisioning and traffic grooming capability while reducing network delays for
all types of traffic.
At a time when operators are losing ARPU, how will your solution help
their cost management model?
Ordyn has always focused on efficient and high-quality hardware and software
architectures to help reduce the capex involved in commissioning of networks.
High level of integration and continuous improvements to use state of the art
technology has resulted in our equipment having high MTBFs, lower power
consumption and use reduced real-estate, thereby reducing operational costs.

'Cheap and best' is going to be the new business mantra for the market.
Any specific plans and strategy to capture the emerging opportunity?
Our products are positioned as the most cost-effective carrier grade
solutions with provisioning software to support building and maintaining very
large networks. We focus on architecting the products right to get the best of
technology.
What are your plans for the future?
Ordyn is diversifying its product portfolio to provide end-to-end solutions. We
will expand our optical network product offerings including DWDM. We will
continue to bring out competitive products providing end-to-end solution to
telecom networks around the world.
