VP Sinha Takes Additional Charge as Director (C&NS), BSNL

VP Sinha has taken additional charge as Director, Commercial and New Services at BSNL. He replaces BR Khurana who retired recently. He is currently working as the senior DDG, Long Term Planning in DoT. He has also worked as senior DDG, transmission, BSNL. He is one of the pioneers of satellite communications in India. He was involved in the design and testing of SCPC modem for satellite way back in 1975-76. 

An electrical engineering graduate from the Patna University, VP Sinha has served as a lecturer in Electrical Engineering in the same university for around 2 years. After that he joined Department of Telecommunications and has been serving it for the last 35 years. He has undergone training in planning and design of rural communication by the then Telecom Australia in 1984 under UNDP programme. He was also deputed by ITU to Pyongyang, Korea as an expert on digital communication. He was deputed for ITU Rajkot project for multi purpose communication telecentre for provision of modern commmunication facilities to rural areas at an affordable rate. He ahs also served as an APT expert to study the participation of private sector in provisioning of rural communication in Thailand.
