Vodafone UK made a ground-breaking decision by launching its 5G standalone (SA) network, making it the first operator in the nation to offer its consumers this cutting-edge network technology. A new era of connectivity has begun with the launch of the recently launched service, known as 5G Ultra, which is initially accessible in London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Cardiff.

While Vodafone UK continues to use 5G Non-standalone (NSA) technology in some regions of the nation, the launch of 5G SA represents a significant advancement. The 5G SA network is entirely independent, with a distinct 5G core that easily integrates with the 5G RAN, in contrast to NSA, which uses 5G in the radio access network while still depending on a 4G core network.

The primary benefit of Vodafone's 5G SA network is its capacity to extend mobile phone battery life by about 25%, which is a considerable boost for consumers on the go. Additionally, 5G Ultra promises improved dependability in congested areas, ensuring a seamless connection. The fastest recorded 5G speeds on a standalone network are supposedly 10 times quicker than the company's 4G speeds, setting a new standard for wireless performance. This is maybe the most astounding aspect of all.

Customers of Vodafone must currently hold a Samsung Galaxy S21 or S22 mobile in order to benefit from 5G Ultra. A larger range of consumers will be able to benefit from the power of 5G Ultra thanks to the company's ambitious plans to increase device compatibility in July.

All new and upgrading customers going forward will automatically have 5G Ultra added to their plans at no additional cost if they have a compatible handset and signed up for a Pay Monthly contract after February 24. A few people have already started to receive 5G Ultra. In summer 2023, eligible clients will be added gradually.
