Vodafone joins hand with Brazil’s Datora Telecom for M2M services

Vodafone has signed an agreement with Datora Telecom to support the growing number of multinational businesses looking to extend a presence in Brazil.

Datora Mobile will re-brand to Vodafone Brasil and will start trading with immediate effect.

An increasing number of global businesses are looking to incorporate M2M communications into their core operations in the country.

The agreement with Datora Telecom addresses this demand and the companies will work together to provide customers with high quality M2M communication services including enhanced network coverage and compelling commercial contracts.

Erik Brenneis, Director of M2M, Vodafone said: "Our agreement with Datora Telecom supports the increasing demand we are seeing from our customers for M2M services in South America and Brazil in particular. We are a market leader for M2M services and we can now make it easier and strengthen the benefits for our customers operating in this dynamic market."

The agreement gives Vodafone a substantial and nationwide presence in Brazil. The largest economy in Latin America and one of the fastest growing emerging markets in the world.

In 2012, Datora Telecom established a dedicated M2M unit and has now installed more than 150,000 M2M connections on behalf of corporate customers.

Its expertise in providing M2M solutions to a number of corporate sectors such as automotive, security, utilities, medical and financial services within the country is a key factor underpinning the partnership.
