Vodafone Foundation invests Rs 140 mn to provide digital learnng

Vodafone Foundation in association with Pratham Education Foundation launch 'Learning with Vodafone Solution' to enhance learning through technology. Vodafone would invest Rs 140 million over next 3 years to provide this solution across 1,000 schools in India.

'Learning with Vodafone Solution' is a cloud based solution that is a combination of content, a learning platform, mobile devices and access technologies and enables continuous engagement between teachers and students, both inside and outside the classroom. It enables teachers to improve the classroom experience with rich graphical and multi-media content coupled with innovative methods of teaching. With this, students get to explore learning via the internet in an interactive manner.

The project would be commenced with 300 schools in June 2012, 'Learning with Vodafone Solution' project shall be implemented in a phased manner targeting low income schools. The project would be implemented in government schools and low-income private schools in urban and rural areas where the medium of instruction is English.

Vodafone foundation will extend this program to Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Delhi; after the success of the pilot project in Karnatake.
