New Update

Vodafone India will discontinue mobile services for prepaid customers on numbers that have no usage (no voice calls, SMS, and data) for any continuous period of 60 days.

Advertisment

This guideline has been implemented because DoT's stringent guideline for allocation of new number series based on subscribers in VLR (visitor location register) has created acute shortage of numbers, for any operator. All this will be helpful for the company to free its numbers and offer it to new customers.

New customers will be intimated of the deactivation process in their starter kits while existing customers will be informed via SMS and outbound calls wherever possible.

Vodafone India has pan India operations and has around 146 million customers. Vodafone is one of the world's largest mobile communications companies by revenue with over 391 million customers in its controlled and jointly controlled markets as at September 30, 2011 with equity interests in over 30 countries across five continents and more than 40 partner networks worldwide.
