At the launch event, various 4G WiMax products were showcased. Through the 4G WiMax technology, VMAX expects to improve the living quality and work efficiency of citizens, and to make Taipei a world-leading 4G WiMax technology city.

“High-speed broadband connectivity has become vital in our daily lives to meet the increasing demand for Internet access. VMAX Telecom
believes that 4G WiMax service will set the milestone for a new era,”
said C.K. Liu, President & CEO of VMAX Telecom. “We expect people's
broadband wireless usage patterns to change. Taipei will soon become a
technology city as 4G WiMax proliferates.”

The VMAX commercial availability ushers in a line-up of WiMax-enabled devices, with major OEMs including Acer and Asus introducing
Intel-based laptops featuring the multi-mode Intel Centrino Advanced-N
+ WiMAX 6250 embedded solution, certified and ready for use on the
network. This support represents an important step forward in
delivering broadband wireless connectivity in Taiwan via in-built
WiMax.

“WiMax makes 4G wireless connectivity possible today. Intel
congratulates VMAX on the deployment of its first commercial WiMax
service,“ said Navin Shenoy, Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Group and General Manager of Intel Asia Pacific. “Today's announcement
is an important milestone that will accelerate the availability of
laptops and other mobile devices with in-built WiMax in other markets
around Asia Pacific and globally. We expect momentum to continue in
APAC throughout 2010 as WiMAX reaches mass market and additional
laptops, netbooks and other mobile devices with built-in WiMax come to
market.”

VMAX Telecom has also launched the world's first 4G VMAX service built in taxis. The VMAX Mobile “Internet Cafés” are installed with
touch-screen MIDs to provide high speed Internet access, web TV, local
information, mobile games, and GPS services. A new user-interface
will be introduced in April this year when more services including
e-coupons download and new games such as One Arm Bandit and dice will
be introduced. Passengers can also accumulate bonus points using the
service.

The VMAX Mobile Internet Café service is now available on 1,000 taxis. According to Teddy Huang, Chairman of VMAX, VMAX Mobile Internet Cafés offer taxi passengers an enjoyable taxi ride by watching movies, checking daily life information, or playing games free of charge on the road. The VMAX Mobile Internet Café platform is a value-added service bringing taxi drivers more customers. It also serves as an advertising medium to help stimulate consumption.

time and is the best value wireless broadband solution in the market
at present. Business and home users can also choose the service plan
that also offers a router on top of the 4G WiMax card to enable
wireless broadband both on the go, at home or in the office.
