NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has inaugurated its handset manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh‘s Greater Noida. The plant will cater to the manufacturing and assembling of vivo smartphones, creating more jobs and decreasing vivo’s dependence on imports.
Greater Noida is located in the Gautam Budh Nagar district of the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
For the new unit, Vivo has invested approx Rs. 125 crore to established new plant in Greater Noida plant. The new manufacturing unit with a maximum production capacity of onemillion devices a month, will help create around 2,200 jobs.

“We are glad that vivo has commenced its first manufacturing unit in Greater Noida with the vision of creating more jobs and opportunities for Indians, hence supporting the “Make in India” program. We hope the advent of this new journey will bring more growth prospects to vivo,” said Rama Raman, Chairman Noida.
The manufacturing unit is all set to manufacture and assemble several new models such as Y11, Y21, Y15S, which will meet the present domestic demand.
