Telecom Market Revenues
  • Revenues of the world's
    mobile and fixed telecom operators will exceed $1.4 trillion in
    2006

  • Fixed operator revenues
    will exceed mobile by 8%, reaching $730 bn, compared to $674
    bn
    for mobile

  • Revenue growth rate for

  • Among regions, North
    America has the largest share of fixed revenues (38%),
    while Europe has the largest portion of mobile (43%)

  • Considering combined fixed
    and mobile 2006 revenues, the world's top ten telecom
    operators worldwide are Deutsche Telecom ($93B), Verizon ($90B),
    AT&T ($80B), NTT ($77B), Vodafone ($68B), France Telecom
    ($64B), Telefonica ($60B), Sprint Nextel ($41B), BellSouth
    ($39B), and Telecom Italia ($38B). AT&T would become the
    world's largest single telecommunications carrier, with
    revenues exceeding $110 B, should its proposed merger with
    BellSouth be realized.

  • Total capex of the world's
    mobile and fixed telecom operators will exceed
    $225
    bn in 2006

  • Fixed operator capex will
    exceed mobile by 8%, reaching $730 bn, compared to $674
    bn for mobile
