After the Cabir virus, another virus has been found to be stalking Pocket PC, running Microsoft's PocketPC OS. It has been named WinCE4.Dust (or Duts) and so seems to do nothing harmful. In fact, it asks the users for permission to spread.
If the user clicks on Yes, in response to the message, the virus proceeds to infect files, or else it quits. However modifying the virus code to remove the polite request for permission to infect and replacing it by malicious code is a relatively trivial task.
It has been written by the same hacker group, 29A, which had produced the Cabir virus.
