UTStarcom Bags TTSL Contract for Multi Services Access Platform

UTStarcom, Inc announced that it has signed its first contracts to deploy 56,000 lines of its AN-2000 platform with Tata Teleservices Ltd. TTSL will be deploying the AN-2000 platform across its service area comprising six telecom circles. With the signing of this contract, UTStarcom has signed on six of the eight basic service operators in the country as customers.

"We selected UTStarcom"s AN-2000 multi-service access platform based on its very successful performance in the Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd. (formerly Hughes Tele.com (India) Ltd.) network in Maharashtra," said Ajay Madan, Chief Technology Officer of TTSL. "The platform offers tremendous advantages because of its modularity, scalability, cost effectiveness, and broad service offerings." UTStarcom stated that by the end of 2002, over 600,000 lines of its AN- 2000 multi-service access platform had been deployed across India with clients including BSNL and
MTNL.
