Unimobile Withdraws Free Messaging Service

Unimobile which had become popular by providing free instant messaging on mobile devices, has with effect from February 15, 2001 decided to discontinue the service, worldwide. This service discontinuation, as stated by an e-mail sent to subscribers, has been necessitated by Unimobile's strategic shift from serving individual users to providing wireless data solutions for enterprises. Already, users are facing difficulties a day ahead of the discontinuance of services. Messages are not getting delivered instantaneously.
