Tulip, EMC offer Back-up-as-a-Service & On-demand Storage

After bestowing an international recognition to India in the data center industry, by setting up a world class and enviable Asia's biggest and World's third largest data center in India; Tulip Telecom's next ideal move is to leverage it to the fullest.

Now, Tulip has equipped its infrastructure to deliver managed back-up and storage services in India in association with EMC. As per the deal, EMC technologies such as EMC VNX unified storage, EMC Avamar and EMC Data Domain technologies enables Tulip to provide information storage, back up, archival and de-duplication technologies to customers in a 'pay-as-you-use' model.

This association enables, Tulip to address the growing needs of cloud computing solutions for data storage and back up through hosted data centers. EMC would extending its assistance in creating financial capabilities. EMC will help Tulip in planning and building services, said Rajesh Janey, president, EMC India & SAARC.

“Managed services and cloud services are expected to a gain prominence in coming years and cloud, primarily Infrastructure-as-a-service, expected to grow at 30-40% is poised to becoming an integral part of data center business,” said Deepinder Bedi, executive director, Tulip Telecom
