The total revenues of the cellular industry jumped 14 percent during the second quarter (July-September) of the current fiscal to Rs 1,956 crore compared to Rs 1,706 crore for the April-June quarter. However, the national ARPU for the industry fell around 2.8 percent to Rs 509 from Rs 521.6 in the previous month.
Hutchison's Mumbai circle continued in the number one position when it came to circle-wise ARPUs with Rs 768 (previous quarter ARPU Rs 770). Orange is followed by Aircel in Tamil Nadu (Rs 637) and Reliance in West Bengal (Rs 625). Hutch has also reported the highest ARPUs in all the seven circles where it operates, including the new south circles where it was the fourth operator. In terms of total revenues for Q2, Bharti leads with a total revenue of Rs 604.54
crore.
