How is ZTE planning to address the growth potential offered by 3G and
WiMax?
The emergence of new technologies like 3G and WiMax are bringing some new
changes to bearer networks. These changes are in the areas of IP, broadband, and
service types. These three changes will cover the whole network, which includes
core layer, convergence layer, and access layer.
How suitable is the Indian market for these kind of products?
Indian market is now in the eve of 3G service. With these new services
coming in, there is a new demand for bearer network products. ZTE has the
expertise to provide five types of products that are designed for new
technologies-namely ICAN, IP/MPLS, IPTN, E-MSTP, IxWDM, and other mature
commercial applications.
The Indian market features strong competition and strict technical
requirements. To counter this, ZTE offers excellent and cost-effective products
and solutions. Keeping in mind the price sensitiveness of the Indian market,
most parts of the equipments are designed by ZTE itself in order to reduce the
purchase cost.
What is the strategy you are adopting to develop market for these products
in India?
India has many operators and each with many differentiations. Therefore, the
requirement of these operators is quite complicated and very different. To cater
to this, ZTE has the following market strategy:
- Keep close contact and communication with customers
- Provide green design of products and solutions
- Components that feature low power consumption and non-hazardous materials;
equipments - To provide customized products and solutions: This makes our products more
suited to the special demands of the customers and brings in extra value to
our customers
Does ASON and PTN meet 3G, NGN, and IPTV requirements?
IP mode is the unified choice for carriers now to improve competency and
launch new services such as 3G, NGN, and IPTV, whose network structures are on
all-IP basis. PTN, based on packet switching core, is the future development
trend of transmission network, which can provide hierarchical end-to-end OAM, H-QoS,
statistic multiplexing, synchronous timing solution, and SDH like management,
etc, for all kinds of carrier-class IP services. On the other hand, ASON, is an
intelligent control plane, that can provide mesh protection and restoration,
automatic connection set-up. It can help in creation of new services and fast
provisioning, which can result in better resources utilization, allowing
efficient bandwidth management for 3G, NGN, and IPTV.
