The New HP formally Launched in India 

The new merged entity after the amalgamation of of HP and Compaq has been
formally launched India. Balu Doraisamy, President of Hewlett -Packard India
announced this at a press conference in Bangalore.

While announcing the formal launching of the new HP, Doraisamy expressed
optimism about the future growth prospects of the company in India and hoped
that the company with its rich set of products would emerge to be one of the
most successful companies in the Indian market. Doraisamy remarked that with its
great spectrum of products the new HP would be successful in addressing the
different needs of its customers be it at home, work or play.

Doraisamy remarked that the new HP in the long run would mainly focus on
leadership products, infrastructure solutions, business solutions,
telecommunications, manufacturing and finance while undertaking its new
operations in India's fast emerging market. He said that apart from these the
new HP would also focus on health care and would also look forward to work with
government departments. He cited the example of HP providing the new know how
while undertaking the computerization of the Indian Postal Department. He
further said that the new HP would also be focussing on products specific to
Indian conditions.
