Texas Instruments partners with iRobot for robotic technologies

Texas Instruments has partnered with iRobot, a company providing technology based solutions, for the development of robotic technologies using its smart multicore OMAP platform.

The OMAP platform's multicore architecture sends processing tasks to cores and engines that can do the job, using the least amount of power possible. It is a high performing, ultra power efficient system on a chip, smaller than a dime.

The process is also enhanced by TI's image and video accelerators. iRobot has provided more than 4,500 combat-proven government and industrial robots to military and civil defense forces worldwide.
